Enjoying Brazil's Beaches The Natural Way With Topless Beach Brazil
Considering the fact that Brazilian people go to the beach as close to nude as possible, it's not easy to find a topless beach Brazil. The government of Brazil is quite conservative, and only in recent years has it allowed topless beach Brazil.
There are more nude beaches in Europe and the United States, but you can find topless beach Brazil if you know where to look. Here is a short guide to the best topless beach Brazil.
Around Rio
Amazingly, for a country known for its skimpy bikini's and the locals' love of showing off their bodies, it took Abrico 9 years of fighting to be opened as a nude beach. The conservative Rio government tried its hardest to keep it closed, and it finally opened in 1994.
Abrico is located on the outskirts of Rio, close to the popular surfers' beach of Grumari. It is the only nudist beach in Rio, and one of the few topless beaches in Brazil to be inside of an urban area.
Even though it is topless, Abrico is not some kind of hedonistic anything-goes place. Opened by naturists, Abico is a great place for people who simply want to sunbathe in the nude and enjoy nature in a natural way.
Nude Beaches In The North
Tambaba is one of the most famous topless beaches in the northern part of Brazil. It is located in the tropical area of Paraiba. Tambaba is also known for its strict rules and regulations. For example, there is a "family area" of the beach where everyone must be nude. At most beaches, nudity is optional, but here it is required.
There are rules about who can enter the family area when. For example, men unaccompanied by women, except for those who belong to an official nudist society, can not enter the family area. Photographs and video are also forbidden.
Another well-known nude beach in the north which is not so strict is Massarandupio, located in the Bahia state, close to the city of Salvador.
Santa Catarina In Southern Brazil
Most of Brazil's nude beaches are located in the south, in the Santa Catarina area. Probably the most popular here, with naked tourists coming from all over south America, is Praia do Pinho (Pinho Beach). This was one of the first nude beaches to be opened in the area, and although clothing is optional, the locals joke that it is forbidden.
During the summer tourist season, Pinho Beach can be quite crowded. It is best to visit during the late spring or early fall. Temperatures are still quite nice and there are fewer crowds. Pinho Beach is also not so developed, which makes it a naturally beautiful place to go natural in.
There is a nude beach called Galheta on the southern Brazilian island of Florianopolis. Galheta is enjoyed by both nudists and those who prefer to string something on. It is popular because it is pristine and very undeveloped. Nudist or not, it is considered one of the best beaches in southern Brazil (that just happens to be clothing-optional).
Brazil has only recently opened topless beaches, but the trend is growing. With it's white sand, clear water and warm sun, Brazil is starting to attract nudists from all over the world.
