Meet Cuiaba Brazil, the heart of the country!

Cuiaba Brazil is the heart of South America, literally because it marks the exact centre of the continent. In fact, Cuiaba Brazil is one of the most neglected areas in terms of Brazilian tourism, despite the fact that it has numerous attractions that can appeal to everyone. More specifically, it is one of the most biodiverse areas in Brazil.

Located in Mato Grosso, Cuiaba Brazil is next to the Pantanal region of the country and has one of the most bio-diverse ecosystems available to travellers and locals alike. That is in spite of the fact that it has largely been urbanised, beginning in the 1930s when a road and a railway was built right through it in order to make the region more accessible. As a result, the population of Cuiaba Brazil had risen to 250,000 plus in the 1980s. However, this has given rise to a number of environmental problems that had threatened the existence of many of the species that called Cuiaba Brazil their home.

Also in close proximity are the Amazon and the Chapada dos Guimaraes mountain range. Both have contributed to the hot tropical climate that is resent in Cuiaba Brazil and have led to many species of birds, animals, flora and fauna making the area their home. The mesophytic and rain forests are beautiful and simply amazing to behold and are well worth a visit, and the flat lands and water ways have given rise to skydiving, sightseeing, trekking and fishing, amongst other activities. The reason why this area is such a gem is because it literally has it all – forest, mountains, wetlands, savannah grassland and rivers. It is therefore no wonder why travellers are drawn to this place!

However, it is the culture that also contributes to the lure of Cuiaba Brazil. Many different races and ethnicities live in the city, but the main influences are the indigenous Indians and the Africans. This has led to Cuiaba Brazil becoming extremely rich in culture and has given the music, food and social community a flavour of its own! There are many places to stay and events to behold, with Carneval being one of them. Every year, during the four days leading up to Lent, the people of the area parade and party in the streets. If you happen to be visiting during that time then you are in for a treat! However, the nature and culture would be more than enough to enjoy the rest of the year.
