Welcome to the diverse world of Brazil people!
The population of Brazil people stood at 187,424, 610 inhabitants on the morning of 28th October 2007, according to the population centre of Brazil! As a result, the population of Brazil is one of the highest in the world. However, the one thing that Brazil people have that the people of many other countries do not is diversity. There is a great blend of different cultures and different people in Brazil and this makes the country one of the best places to visit as a result of the fact that everybody can identify with the people there!
Brazil people, in terms of demographics, are largely under the age of thirty (62% of the total population). This is a result of urbanisation and modernisation, but gives travellers a fantastic experience in terms of the range of activities, events and food to be had! The majority of the population lives in urban areas in the Southeast, such as Rio and Sao Paulo, but the cultural value of Brazil people does not reside there alone!
There are three main cultures living in Brazil at the moment – white Europeans, black Africans and indigenous peoples that were in Brazil before European settlers. There are some 516,000 indigenous people in Brazil at the moment. They live in the natural habitat of the rainforest and in more rural areas such as the Northeast and largely uninhabited interior. The black Africans tend to live in the Bahia region and the rest of the Northeast, as well as the big cities. White Europeans, who are predominantly Brazil people of Portuguese origin, are by far the most prevalent race and live throughout the country.
In more recent times, the Japanese have been added to the list of people of Brazil, with many arriving in the early to mid 20th Century as a result of the quest for a better quality of life and to escape persecution after World War II. The Japanese Brazil people tend to live in Sao Paulo and this is in fact the largest population of Japanese outside of their native Japan!
That is not to say that Brazil people live separately and do not mix because they do. People in Brazil are amongst the most tolerant on the planet and tend to mix culturally, racially and socially with very few problems at all! This had led to a greater experience for the traveller, who gets to witness all of these cultures rolled into one! Why go anywhere else when you can experience Brazil people in all of their glory and enjoy their laid back lifestyle for yourself?
